ABOUT US
HONEA Federal Credit Union has been serving the employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Hale Koa since it was federal chartered in January 1952, by a group of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
HONEA FCU moved to Fort Shafter in October 1974, and is located in Building 223.
In the last 10 years, many financial products and services have been developed to better serve our members, and it is our vision to offer the best products and services that are affordable and adds value to our members.

HONEA is governed by the Board of Directors who are volunteers and are not compensated.

The Credit Committee Chairperson is Donna Kanetake and the committee members are Fred Dalit and Francis Tonaki. The Credit Committee reviews and approves loan applications based on the loan policies enacted by the Board of Directors.
The Supervisory Committee Chairman is Tim Young. The Supervisory Committee is the watchdog of the credit union. They are responsible to hire external auditors to review the operations and financial conditions of the credit union. They also work very closely with NCUA Examiners to ensure that the credit union is being operated in a sound manner. They ensure that the Board of Directors, Credit Committee and credit union staff are fulfilling their respective role and responsibilities.
